As a shooter, Layla is qualified to control and reap. She can deal a large amount of damage, but also is very fragile herself. Some protection is needed to allow Layla to bring her damage-dealing and reaping superiority into full play.

Skill Analysis
Malefic Gun (Passive): Basic attacks will do even more damage to long-range targets, at most increasing from 85% to 135%.
Malefic Bomb (Skill 1): Fires a Malefic Energy Bomb forward that will deal 200 physical damage to the first enemy it hits.
Void Projectile (Skill 2): Fires an energy ball that explodes at the feet of an enemy target, dealing 170 physical damage to the target and nearby enemies, also slowing them down 55%, lasting for 2s.
Destruction Rush (Skill 3): Fires an energy cannon that deals 500 physical damage to enemies in front of it. Each upgrade of this skill will raise basic attack distance 0.4.

Battle Spell Choice
Flicker: Layla need to keep distance from enemies to take advantage of her high damage-dealing. She’s quite vulnerable and does not have any displacement skill. So this skill Flicker is extremely important to her when she doesn’t get teammates around to protect her. She can use the battle spell to quickly get off enemies and pull distance, saving herself’s life also create the room to strike back.

Gear Analysis
Tooth of Greed: provides a lot of lifesteal which can improve Layla’s endurance tremendously in lining or team fights.
Thor’s Sting: Provides attack speed and movement speed addition. With a high attack frequency and faster movement, Layla can be more agile to avoid damage and keep her distance from enemy units faster.
Swift Boots: Increases attack speed and movement speed, very useful for a shooter.
Wind Chaser: High penetration ability could enhance Layla’s damage-dealing significantly. In the meantime, she will have no fear when faced with full-armored tank heroes.
Blade of Destruction: Adds more critical strike damage to Layla, plus her own crit stats and the addition from Thor’s Sting, giving her a more dreadful damage-dealing ability.
Magic Blade: Layla is vulnerable, while Magic Blade can give a shield absorbing damage to her, which will withstand a deadly attack for Layla and allow her to survive.

Emblem Set Choice
Physical Emblem Set: Provides addition of physical attack, attack speed and crit strike chance, which are the most basic and important stats for Layla. Additional armor and HP addition also enhances her survival ability.

Combat Tips
Move constantly to confuse your enemies. When they are attacking minions, you can go up and attack them at the edge of your attack range, then retreat immediately in case of any lost. Use Void Projectile to consume enemies or kill minions from far away. Predict enemies’ movement and injure them. When target’s HP is low, use the Ult to kill them directly. Use Flicker to chase up to your target if necessary. When you are at disadvantages, use the second skill to do an attrition battle. Move deftly to avoid enemy’s skills and call your teammates to help to siege the target, then use the control ability of the second skill to slow enemy down and kill them together.

Team fight tips
Keep distance from enemy team as far as you can. Use the second skill and the Ult to consume enemies. If your target is in the attack range, then use basic attack to deal damage, do not come forward rashly. Use battle spell Flicker to pull distance when enemy approaches to you. Then run back while shooting with basic attack, and kill the enemy in cooperation with teammates. Add more movement speed to Layla, and take this advantage to evade enemy skill damage. Coordinating with lifesteal ability, you can survive from the team fight and continuously do more damage-dealing.
